A clinically driven overview of soft tissue grafting techniques, focusing on recession management and minimisation, and peri-im-
plant tissue stability/augmentation. The session will explore indications, graft selection, surgical approaches, and outcome optimisa-
tion based on both clinical experience and emerging evidence.
Lecture 2: Immediate Implants in the Aesthetic Zone
A structured approach to immediate implant placement in high-risk aesthetic areas, covering case selection, surgical protocols,
provisionalisation strategies, and management of hard and soft tissue dynamics and patient factors to achieve predictable aesthetic
outcomes.

Dr Steve Soukoulis is a specialist periodontist with over 25 years of experience in implant dentistry and
advanced surgical procedures. He practices in Adelaide, South Australia and has a strong focus on complex implant rehabilitation,
soft tissue management, and aesthetic outcomes in high-demand clinical situations.
He is the founder of the Dental Implant Registry (DIR), an independent clinical registry designed to improve transparency, out-
comes monitoring, and evidence-based decision-making in implant dentistry. His work integrates real-world clinical data with re-
search to better understand complications, long-term outcomes, and treatment optimisation.
He has a particular interest in peri-implant soft tissue stability and the biological principles underpinning aesthetic success.
His current work bridges clinical practice, registry science, and data-driven treatment protocols, with the aim of advancing stand-
ards of care and improving patient outcomes in implant dentistry.
